Athlete Protection Training 2026
Parents and all other adult and teen volunteers (14 & Older) must complete the required Athlete Protection Training as soon as possible in order for your swimmer to be eligible to swim in WHALe meets. Click the link below to take the training now.

Stroke & Turn Judge, Starter, and Referee Training
This course is required for volunteers who wish to become either or all of the following for the 2026 WHALe Swim Season:
- Stroke and Turn Officials
- Swim Meet Referee
- Swim Meet Starter

Officials will train to identify stroke, touch, and turn infractions and to effectively run and officiate the meet. This requires an annual certification. The 2026 certification will only be valid during the 2026 season. In order to obtain the 2026 certification, the following course must be completed:
2026 - Online Officials Training
AND
One of the following In-Person Trainings
If you are a USA Swimming Certified Official, you can be a WHALe Official after providing proof of your certification and signing an Acknowledgment of Differences between USA Swimming Rules and WHALe Rules.
Console Operator Training
This course is required for volunteers who wish to assist in running our Console during swim meets for the 2026 WHALe Swim Season.

Console Operators will train to setup and operate the Meet Maestro and CTS Dolphin Systems. This requires an annual certification. The 2026 certification will only be valid during the 2026 season.
